The location of the signs must be appropriate to the load and location of the escort vehicle. Each side of the vehicle must have a display with the name and city of the escort company or the vehicle owner. Additionally, the top of the vehicle must have a rotating or flashing amber beacon or light bar, at least 10 inches in base diameter and 8 inches tall, visible from at least 500 feet. The cab and rear corners of the vehicle should have red flags (12″x12″) angled upward at a 45-degree angle.

Legal Requirements for Transporting Oversized Loads in Oklahoma
Length Requirements
Loads exceeding 80 feet in length require one front pilot car. For load lengths surpassing 100 feet, one front and one rear pilot car are mandatory.
Overhang Requirements
Width Requirements
If the width is over 12 feet, one front escort is required on two-lane highways. On multi-lane highways, one front and one rear escort are mandatory. On two-lane highways, one front and one rear escort are required if the width is over 14 feet 2 inches. One rear escort is required if the width is between 12 and 16 feet on multi-lane highways. If the width of all highways and roads is over 16 feet, one front and one rear escort cars are required. Load widths of 18 feet or broader demand a police escort.
