Legal Requirements for Transporting Oversized Loads in Maine
Length Requirements
One Pilot vehicle is the requirement for loads with lengths greater than 80 feet but less than 125 feet. 1 Pilot Vehicle and one Police Escort should escort oversized vehicles longer than or equal to 125 feet and less than 150 feet. Oversized loads greater than or equal to 150 feet long require two police escorts.
