North Dakota Pilot Car Escort Services
At Nationwide Transport Services, we provide acclaimed pilot car services in North Dakota and the surrounding states. We also offer our customers complementary services like cranes for loading and unloading, towing vehicles, and permit acquisition. Our services are available whether you need them for cross-state long-haul trips, short-haul trips, or multiple oversized load shipments. Our drivers and agents have over a decade of experience with the state's routes and regulations. We guarantee our customers a safe trip that will meet their deadlines.
Pilot cars maintain road safety when oversized and overweight loads are on the road. They also ensure no road infrastructure or public utilities are damaged. We conduct a route survey to identify obstructing overhead utilities and note bridges' height clearances and speed weight ratings. We plan a route without heavy traffic and tight turns so we spend minimal time in traffic. Where necessary, we handle permits and insurance acquisitions for our customers.
North Dakota's oversized permits are valid for three days, and operators must acquire one from the Department of Transportation before entering the state. They set the operating times as sunrise to sunset, seven days a week, except for loads over 110 feet long and 16 feet wide, which cannot travel all day on Saturday afternoon or Sunday. Overweight only can have continuous travel. Depending on dimensions, travel may be restricted on major holidays or weekends.
