Ohio Pilot Car Escort Services
Moving oversized and overweight calls for experience and state-of-the-art equipment, two things we at Nationwide Transport Services have in plenty. Our services are not only reasonably priced but also of the highest quality. We have guided loads across Ohio for over a decade, regularly traveling the state's interstates and highways. Our pilot cars are equipped with the latest safety technologies, and our drivers are versatile enough to react to situations on the go. Our services are flexible to accommodate all of our customer's needs. We will handle it for you, whether single or multiple loads.
Ohio Department of Transportation requires loads above the legal dimensions to obtain an oversized permit. The permits are valid for five days. Permits regulate the load route, the number and type of escort vehicles, and the travel times. Pilot cars escort over-dimensional loads to ensure public safety and the integrity of utilities and road infrastructure. We plan the routes for our customer's load for the shortest permit application times and conduct route surveys where necessary. A route survey in a marked pilot car involves scouting for road points too narrow for the load. We also take note of railway crossings, traffic patterns, and bridge height clearances.
