A Forwarder's Cargo Receipt (FCR), also known as a Forwarder's Certificate of Receipt, is a legally binding document used in international freight forwarding that confirms the freight forwarder received the cargo from the shipper. While this definition may seem similar to the Bill of Lading, they are two entirely different documents. Both are crucial for international shipments.

The Forwarders Cargo Receipt:
- Verifies receipt of cargo for shipping.
- Confirms completion of relevant documentation.
- States terms and conditions of the agreement between shipper and forwarder.
- Is issued when the freight forwarder receives the shipment.
- Does not confirm shipment.
